It is a great product which has impressed many and has been adopted to improve the look of numerous objects like plastics, glass, wood, paper, leather, synthetic fabrics, ceramics, and walls. It can be found in different colors like gold, silver, bronze, platinum, etc.
Making objects seem metallic with paint is simple. You can apply paint onto items through various methods, among them using spray cans. When looking for metallic paint, make sure you select the one in spray cans and the color that suits your need. Using spray paint is advantageous because they are easy to use, do not cause messes, and they are secure in their cans even if they are not finished after use.
The first step to carry out when painting an object is cleaning it thoroughly with warm water and soap. Use a scrubbing brush to get rid of all dust and any grime. The importance of this step is to ensure that your surfaces are smooth to give great results.
When you are satisfied with the cleaning, rinse your plastic object well with clean water and then let it dry or use a cloth to wipe it dry. Ensure that your object is void of any soap residue. Examine your object to check for flaky substances and scrap them off. Make your item rough with sandpaper or steel wool to make the primer settle on it well. Wipe it clean with a wet cloth and let it dry for painting.
For the painting, it is best to do your work outside in an open area. When it catches some items they get damaged, so you should clear your work area of all important items. Cover up areas like floors and nearby walls with rags or newspapers. Also, ensure that you wear a mask to prevent the paint odour from affecting you, especially if you have special health conditions.
Apply the first coat of high-quality primer on your object and allow it to dry completely. Take the object and spread the second layer of primer onto it and let it dry completely. The primer is important to let your paint work be smooth and even. Take your metallic paint and spray it all over the object carefully and evenly. Let it dry for a few hours before touching it. Always shake your paint well before use.
